Les Gravières is one of if not the most prized vineyards in Santenay. It's ideal exposure and sub-soil bring out the best in Santenay, where like in Chassagne, Pinot Noir tends to be more forward than in the villages further north.
The nose here is leans towards a more dark and brooding expression with shimmers of red fruit, earth and some underbrush aromatics. Delicious and pure in a textbook kind of way now, this wine will repay any patience shown through aging and then some. |
